Sign On-Line (2003 – 2005)

Sign On-Line was financed by the Department for Work and Pensions as one of a suite of projects (the 'British Sign Language Initiatives') commissioned to support the 2003  government recognition of BSL.
Sign On-Line was developed by the following partner organisations, all members of the Consortium of Interpreter Training and Assessment Providers (CITAP):

  • Centre for Deaf People, City Lit
  • City University, London
  • Council for the Advancement of Communication with Deaf People (CACDP)
  • Royal Association for Deaf People (RAD)
  • University of Central Lancashire (Lead organisation)
  • University of Wolverhampton.

This project established a publicly accessible training and support website to enhance the skills of BSL teachers.
