Deaf United (1998 – 1999)

This research project investigated the role of football within the British Deaf community during 1998 and 1999. Entitled ‘Deaf United’, and funded by a substantial grant from the Football Association, the project investigated the history of deaf people’s involvement in football as both players and fans, as well as seeking to identify the role that football plays in the social and cultural life of the community.
