Started here at UCLan in January 2007 as a Senior Lecturer in Deaf Studies and Project Leader of the Fund for the Development of Teaching and Learning’s BSL: Quality Embedding of the Discipline project (http://www.heacademy.ac.uk/3327.htm). He came from University of Bristol’s Centre for Deaf Studies, when the first undergraduate taught course in Deaf Studies in Britain was started in 1992, he taught primarily in the field of sign language, sign language teaching, Deaf History and Deaf Politics. He is one of the very few sign language teacher trainers in a British university. He has been involved in developing Sign Community’s BSL Academy curriculum. He will extend and enhance the Deaf Studies’ e-learning programme.
