Courses


The Deaf Studies team offers a variety of full and part-time courses in Deaf Studies, BSL and Interpreting.  Prospective students can choose to study a single or combined honours degree.  In addition to this, University certificates, graduate diplomas and postgraduate level courses are also available. 

The undergraduate full-time courses include:

• BA (Hons) Deaf Studies
• BA (Hons) British Sign Language
• Combined Honours Deaf Studies
• A combined honours degree involves choosing major, minor or joint subjects.  The subjects could include: Deaf Studies and Counselling, Deaf Studies and Education, Deaf Studies with English Language and Linguistics, Deaf Studies and Law, Deaf Studies and Psychology, or Deaf Studies and Sociology.

• University Certificate in British Sign Language (Post Stage 2)

• Graduate Diploma in BSL and Communication Studies
